Montgomery County United Way's program, Success By 6, is a nationwide network of local and state coalitions that address the root problems that prevent children from entering school prepared to succeed.
Montgomery County United Way’s Success By 6 initiative began its local start in 2001 through an $80,000 grant awarded through United Way America’s Bank of America early childhood education grant. Conroe Independent School District Title I campuses were targeted with the assistance of Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton and MCUW Volunteer Lucinda Owen. Success By 6 is now offered in two Conroe ISD elementary campuses and two Montgomery ISD elementary campuses as well as Met-Head Start campuses in Conroe and Willis. The Success By 6 Committee meets monthly to promote early childhood education in Montgomery County. Look for news regarding Success By 6 Summer Reading Program.
