Impact Councils Montgomery County United Way divides its work into three conceptual areas that ultimately seek long term solutions for the most pressing needs in our community. Each conceptual area is represented by an Impact Council which is made up of a broad spectrum of volunteers from all walks of life, all areas of the county, non-profit and business people, government representatives, civic organization and faith based representatives.
Finance Oversee fiscal operations, financial planning, and administrative budget.
Strategic Planning Montgomery County United Way’s Strategic Planning Committee defines, recommends and tracks MCUW’s future course of action based on the 2010 Vision and the Strategic Plan.
Marketing Plan and execute year-round marketing efforts of MCUW.
Campaign Plan, organize, and conduct the annual United Way campaign.
MC–CARES Coordinates county efforts regarding disaster response and recovery in several ways:
- MCUW and Interfaith of The Woodlands co-chair to hold monthly meetings with local agencies and faith communities to plan and coordinate efforts and resources.
- Donation Management coordinator for the county and meets with local governments and businesses to enhance community understanding of not-for-profit agencies’ role in the case of future disasters.
- Gathers, manages and distributes information sharing between organizations working with victims of disasters.
- Mobilizes local, state and national resources to help local residents.
Strategic Investment Conduct a thorough study of the programs and financial requirements of local agencies and MCUW Service Centers who request annual funding. Based on the study, recommend the distribution of Montgomery County United Way funds.
Montgomery County Emergency Food & Shelter The intent of this Local Board is for the purchase of food and shelter, to supplement and extend current available resources and not the substitute or reimburse ongoing programs and services. No individual or family may be charged a fee for service with relation to assistance received under this program.
Hispanic Outreach H.O.P.E. (Hispanic Outreach Professional Enrichment) Bridging cultural gaps in our community is the work of Montgomery County United Way’s Hispanic Outreach. Since 2004, MCUW has adapted to serve all Montgomery County citizens including the growing Hispanic community. Hispanic Outreach strives to be a catalyst for greater opportunity, community involvement and cultural community awareness among all residents of Montgomery County.
