MCUW has engaged with diverse community stakeholders, contributors and funded partner non-profit agencies to address our community’s most pressing problems.
Be a part of the solution in identifying lasting solutions for the county's most pressing issues:
Through research, MCUW has identified five priorities that need to be addressed for solutions:
View the Priorities Fact Sheet or the 2008 complete Community Priorities Report.
MCUW's #1 priority is: moving people out of poverty. 37% of school aged children in our county are living at or close to poverty. The Creating Independence Council oversees this priority. Read current news.
MCUW's #2 priority is: faciliate access to affordable and quality healthcare. MCUW's Community Well Being Council recently commissioned a health assessment that shows a portrait of health and healthcare needs of Montgomery County.

As part of the seven recommendations from the assessment, MCUW has formed an Obesity Task Force.
