Montgomery County United Way brings together businesses, government, nonprofit agencies, neighborhoods and individuals to multiply your community investment and help improve lives.

We partner with organizations that share our view that the way to improve lives is by mobilizing the caring power of communities. Our partners know that what we are judged on is results: the tangible and quantifiable impact we make day after day. Their long-term commitments are essential to addressing key social issues, such as helping children and youth achieve their potential; promoting financial stability and independence; and supporting our most vulnerable.

Montgomery County United Way collaborates with 23 Funded Partner Agencies delivering a wide range of services to the community through over 60 individual programs.  We closely monitor the program delivery and financial management of these agencies to ensure they effectively and efficiently deliver their services.

Nonprofit agencies are eligible to receive funds in two ways:
Donor Choice
- Funds are designated by donors to their favorite charities.  Agencies do not have to be a Funded Partner Agency to receive designated contributions, but they must operate as a 501 (c) (3), and provide a health or human service.
Impact Funding
– A group of community volunteers from both the public and private sectors, recommend funding for agency programs and initiatives that will make the greatest impact on our community through one of our five impact areas – Moving People Out of Poverty, Facilitating Access to Affordable and Quality Health Care, Helping People Cope with Challenging Situations and Developing Resiliency, Preventing and Treating Drug and Alcohol Abuse and Providing Temporary Assistance in the Event of a Crisis.
