In Montgomery County, United Way works to help families achieve financial stability with family-sustaining employment, help managing their expenses and help growing assets.
During the 2015 tax season, 3,026 Montgomery County families received free tax preparation services, returning more than $3.6 million to the local economy, and helping these families on the path to financial stability.
Finanical Opportunity Center
The Volunteers of America Financial Opportunity Center in Montgomery County offers families financial, employment and benefits access services, in one close-to-home location. The Center provides financial counseling, vocational training, job-readiness training and career counseling to help Montgomery County residents in their efforts to achieve financial stability.
Last year, the Montgomery County Financial Opportunity Center served 117 families.
